While results vary by student, our clients typically see significant improvements in their test scores. These are much higher than average increases. Many students improve by 4-10 points on the ACT and 100-300 points on the SAT. The amount of improvement depends on factors like starting score, time dedicated to practice, number of sessions per week, session length, and individual learning pace.

When should I start test prep for the ACT/SAT?

Ideally, students should begin test preparation early junior year (11th grade). This provides adequate time to learn strategies, practice skills, and take many practice tests. Students do, however, often see success even when starting the summer before their senior year. For college applications, we recommend starting the process in junior year of high school.

How do I know which test (ACT or SAT) is better for me?

We can help determine which test better suits your strengths through diagnostic assessments. The Digital SAT is adaptive (difficulty adjusts based on your performance) and is taken on a computer. The Enhanced ACT offers both paper and digital options and is non-adaptive. The ACT now has optional Science and Writing sections, while the SAT has no optional sections. Some students prefer the ACT's straightforward format, while others excel with the SAT's adaptive approach.
